Three Beautiful Lakes that I have seen

Last week I was on a trip to Osaka, Kyoto and nearby areas with one of my friend. We visited several places but what attracted me the most was beautiful scenery around the Lake Biwa in Otsu city. Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan, is located in Siga prefecture (About 20km from Kyoto city).

During July last year (2007), I was in Geneva on the way to Lausanne (Switzerland) to attend an International conference. During my one week stay in Lausanne and Montreux cities, I had an opportunity to take a close look of the panoramic view of Lake Geneva. It was indeed awesome. Lake Geneva is the second largest freshwater lake, in terms of surface area, extending from Switzerland (60%) and France (40%).

Finally, I want to compare these lakes with the Fewa Lake of Nepal; where I have been several times. It is located in the Pokhara valley and enjoys the reputation of being second largest lake in Nepal and lying at an altitude of 784 m (2,572 ft). Fewa Lake is famous for the reflection of Mount Machapuchhre on its surface.

Now, If you have a close look of even these pictures, one thing is pretty clear that Lake Fewa despite being a popular tourist destination, lacks in infrastructural development. Nature has given us plenty to be proud of; but our effort is needed to make the place even better.

I really do appreciate your contribution to know all of us about the special things of the places which you have visited.
Its starting but however, I think so its better if you describe little more in detail about comparison between lakes and your recommendations besides the infrastructure.
